If anyone feels strongly about any agenda item they are encouraged to attend the meeting, where they will be given an opportunity to have their say. An alternative course of action would be to contact a councillor prior to the meeting to discuss the matter. Councillor's phone numbers are displayed on the notice board and in the Flag Directory.

News Item -

ConferenceRepresentatives of Fownhope Parish Council attended a conference held last week in Bristol. Chairman Gareth Williams, Councillor Mike Simmons and Parish Clerk Mel Preedy attended the Communities in Action Conference which offered participants a wide range of workshops and keynote speeches covering subjects such as participatory budgeting, asset transfer and the power of competence. “This may sound pretty dry”, said Gareth Williams, “ but forthcoming legislation is going to give Parish Councils much greater responsibility in the future and it’s important that the council is able to take advantage of this in a way which most meets the needs of the community”.

Lynda Wilcox, Chief Executive of the Herefordshire Association of Local Councils, was also at the event. She has previously run a number of training sessions for the Fownhope Parish Council and more are planned for the future.
