Fownhope Parish Council consists of 12 members, elected in May 2007 and currently serving a four year period of office until 2011

The Parish Council is a second tier authority of the Herefordshire Council. Parish Councillors strive to look after the best interests of the parish, with their wide range of powers including matters involving:-

Allotments, baths, cemeteries, churchyards, clocks, commons, crime prevention, entertainments, halls, lighting, litter, open spaces, parking places, parks, planning, playing field, public lavatories, rights of way, roadside verges, seats, shelters, signs, swimming pools, traffic calming, transport, greens etc.

Meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm in the Recreational Field Pavilion.
